WELCOME TO MY WORLD!
My name is Mal Hoeland. I have my BFA in Theatre Arts with a minor in French from Drew University. My nickname is the "Swiss-Army Knife" because the multitude of skills I have allows me to jump from project to project in a variety of roles. Anything that needs to be done, I can do it.
I started my journey in theatre, as an actor. Overtime, I became more intrigued in creating the world around the actors. I focused on Directing and Lighting Designing during University. But I continued to explore set design, costume design and stage management.
At my core, I am a storyteller and creative collaboration will always be my passion.

Newsies Teen, The Naples Players 2022
My Spring in 2025, has mainly spent with NYCDA on their Regional Tour. I served as a touring production technician. My team and I were responsible for Load In of the stage itself as well as all of our lighting and audio gear every weekend. We also ran competition where I would spend my time busking the lights, and designing specific looks for each number live. And at the end of the weekend, we would load out and strike our set up. And then we’d do it again the next weekend.
